Imagine a retirement village situated in the prestigious suburb of Highett that offers living and aged-care options within the same village community. That’s the retirement lifestyle we'll offer at our Bert Newton Village.
Situated on Graham Road, our Bert Newton Village will be the perfect option if you're looking to downsize in luxury, without compromising on location. The village will be only 15km southeast of Melbourne’s CBD, and is just a short distance from Highett train station, local shopping and Southland.
Within the village, you’ll enjoy a range of amenities such as a heated indoor swimming pool, café, hair and beauty salon and cinema. The village will also be set amongst beautifully landscaped gardens.
Our independent and assisted-living residents will live in spaces designed to inspire, indulge, and entertain. Assisted living in a serviced apartment offers the benefits of independent living with added support to make life easier, including housekeeping and delicious chef-prepared meals.
To retire with confidence, you need financial certainty. We're transparent about our costs, offering options to fit your ideal retirement lifestyle. No matter which option you choose, you'll know exactly what you're paying and what you'll receive in return.
We offer a choice in Deferred Management Fee (DMF), of either 30% or 25% with the latter option having a higher entry price.
You can choose between fixed or indexed weekly fees which are set at the time of signing your agreement. Indexed weekly fees are linked to the annual increase in the Consumer Price Index.
Community is central to the lifestyle so we will offer amenities that encourage that sense of togetherness, such as a café, dining room, bar, hair and beauty salon, and shop.
Retirement is a great time to sharpen your skills on the passions and pastimes that you love. Pursue your interests in the workshop, craft room, billiard room, and library.
Incorporate regular activity into your everyday routine or enjoy the camaraderie of a little game time. Amenities will include a swimming pool, spa pool and gym.

Each Ryman village is named in honour of a Kiwi or Aussie trailblazer: Anthony Wilding, Lady Diana Isaac, Evelyn Page. They pushed further and set the bar high for others to aspire to. In creating communities that challenge the expectations of ageing, Ryman villages are also setting the bar high. They’re demonstrating that a retirement lifestyle brimming with new experiences, connections and fulfilment is something we should aspire to. Our Aussie and Kiwi namesakes represent the measure of inspiration, while Ryman villages represent the measure of retirement living.
Bert Newton (1938-2021)
Melbourne born and bred Bert Newton was one of Australia’s most enduring and loved show biz icons.
A pioneer of television and radio, Bert first captured the imaginations of Australians while working in radio broadcasting, primarily as an announcer, before becoming a star of television during its inception in 1957.
Bert’s broad grin, wide face (which would later earn him the nickname ‘Moonface’), and nimble wit were an instant hit and by 1959 he traded his role as compere of The Late Show for regular appearances on Graham Kennedy’s hit show In Melbourne Tonight. The comedy pair’s chemistry was instant, and the men would go on to become Australia’s most loved television duo.
For the next four decades Bert’s infectious humour and beaming smile was rarely absent from household screens throughout the country, as he hosted a slew of Australia’s most popular variety and late-night programs.
Bert’s legacy will always be synonymous with Australia’s night of nights, the Logies, which he hosted a record 19 times.
While he was an adored host of the awards, Bert himself was a quadruple Gold Logie winner and Logie Hall of Fame inductee.
In 1979 Bert was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE), and in 2006, a Member of the Order of Australia (AM).
Bert is survived by his wife, Patti, his children, Matthew and Lauren, and six grandchildren.
